We are committed to providing comprehensive education and training to prepare compassionate and skilled midwives like you. Our Bachelor of Science in Midwifery program offers a rigorous curriculum that equips students with the knowledge, practical skills, and clinical expertise necessary to excel in the field of midwifery.

Program Highlights

Our Bachelor of Science in Midwifery program covers a wide range of subjects, providing students with a solid foundation in midwifery theory, practice, and research. Through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory exercises, and hands-on clinical experiences, students develop the competencies required to provide high-quality care to women, infants, and families.

Women’s Health and Reproductive Care

The program focuses on women’s health and reproductive care throughout the lifespan. Students gain in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, reproductive health, antenatal and postnatal care, family planning, and gynecological conditions. They learn to provide holistic care that respects women’s choices, promotes health and wellness, and addresses the unique needs of diverse populations.

Prenatal, Intrapartum, and Postpartum Care

We emphasize the development of clinical skills related to prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Students learn to conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor fetal well-being, provide evidence-based care during labor and birth, and support women and their families during the postpartum period. They acquire the necessary skills to manage normal deliveries and recognize and respond to complications in a timely manner.

Newborn Care and Infant Health

Our program includes comprehensive training in newborn care and infant health. Students learn to assess newborns, promote breastfeeding, provide newborn resuscitation, and manage common newborn conditions. They develop the skills to support healthy infant development, provide guidance to new parents, and recognize and address neonatal emergencies.

Community and Public Health

We recognize the importance of community and public health in midwifery practice. Students explore public health principles, epidemiology, health promotion, and disease prevention. They learn to collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community stakeholders to address health disparities, promote access to care, and implement community-based programs.

Professional Ethics and Collaboration

We prioritize professional ethics, cultural sensitivity, and interprofessional collaboration. Students learn about ethical and legal considerations in midwifery practice, respect for cultural diversity, and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams. They develop the skills to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and promote positive birth outcomes.

Clinical Practicum

Our program includes extensive clinical practicum experiences in a variety of healthcare settings. Under the guidance of experienced preceptors, students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world situations. They gain hands-on experience in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, birthing centers, clinics, and community health settings.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of our Bachelor of Science in Midwifery program are well-prepared for a range of career opportunities. They can pursue roles as registered midwives in hospitals, birthing centers, clinics, and community health settings. Many graduates also choose to work as educators, researchers, advocates, and leaders in the field of midwifery.
