Summer Reading Program

Duration: July 1-30, weekdays only

Overview:
The Reading Summer Program is specifically designed for students who are at the early stages of learning to read. This program aims to provide a supportive and engaging environment where participants can develop foundational reading skills, phonics knowledge, and a love for reading. Led by experienced instructors, this program offers a combination of group activities, interactive games, and individualized instruction.

Schedule:
The program will run from July 1 to July 30, on weekdays only. Each day will have multiple time slots available to accommodate different age groups and ensure personalized attention.

Slots: 

Grade 1- 3 – 9:00am- 11:00am

Grades 4-6 – 9:00am-11:00am (another teacher)

Class Structure:
The class will consist of small groups of readers, allowing for a supportive and interactive learning environment. Each session will be led by a qualified reading instructor who will introduce key reading concepts and guide students through various activities.

Activities and Curriculum:

Phonics Instruction: Students will learn the relationship between letters and sounds through interactive phonics lessons. They will practice letter recognition, blending sounds to form words, and identifying common phonetic patterns.

Sight Word Recognition: Participants will be introduced to high-frequency sight words, which are essential for fluent reading. They will engage in fun activities and games to reinforce sight word recognition and develop automaticity.

Reading Aloud: Students will have opportunities to practice reading aloud individually and in small groups. They will focus on building fluency, expression, and comprehension as they read age-appropriate texts.

Cost:
The cost of the program is PHP2000 for the whole session. Participants are expected to pay 25% upon enrollment and should pay weekly.
