Organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in partnership with the Unilab Foundation and HeadsUpPH, the two-day training gathered student leaders, guidance practitioners, advisers, and representatives from higher education institutions across the Visayas. The program aimed to strengthen peer support initiatives and promote student well-being through development-centered and responsive higher education.
Representing the Augustinian Recollect Student Crusaders (ARSC) were Roel Provida, BSBA Representative, and Dinah Rose Carmona, BSTM Representative, together with Sr. Joy A. Dula, AR, Sister-Servant. They joined fellow delegates from various colleges and universities in learning effective strategies for creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments within their respective campuses.
Throughout the training, participants engaged in interactive discussions, workshops, and collaborative activities that strengthened their skills as peer facilitators. The sessions emphasized the importance of active listening, effective communication, empathy, confidentiality, and proper referrals, while reinforcing that serious mental health concerns should always be referred to guidance counselors and mental health professionals.
More than enhancing leadership skills, CHED PeerKada VIBE 2026 inspired participants to become compassionate advocates for mental health and well-being. The program encouraged student leaders to cultivate a culture of understanding, acceptance, inclusion, and respect within their respective school communities.
As the delegates return to Colegio de Santa Rita de San Carlos, Inc., they bring with them valuable knowledge, practical skills, and a renewed commitment to promoting mental health awareness and peer support among fellow ARSCians. Their participation reflects the institution's dedication to developing compassionate, responsible leaders who help build healthy connections and strengthen the Ritarian family.
